Registration: Everyone is responsible for their own league fee. Captains, no more hounding your friends to pay up. Captains: We know how much you guys and gals put into organizing the team. To show our appreciation, we give you a discount. Schedule: Like playing past midnight? Neither do we! The latest time you game could be schedule is 11pm. Nightly Winners: For our adult leagues, nightly winners receive winners coupons for discounted drink specials. End of Season Tournament: How about a real league tournament! At the end of each session, we have a end of season tournament. It’s a one day, single elimination tournament to crown the champs. League Champs: You deserve some recognition for your success. At The Soccer Lot, we reward our league champs with prizes from our partners, shirt with the coveted champions star, and memorialized on our wall of fame. Free agents: Want to play or need a couple players to fill in the roster? We can help with that. How Much to Play? Captains: $70.00 to register and a $100 deposit. Once your team roster has 7 players, we refund you the $100. Team Players: For individuals joining the team, it’s $92 with a shirt and $80 without. They’re nice shirts, but not required. Free Agents: You can sign up for any one of our leagues as a free agent. We’ll do our best to find you a team. Once we do, there’s a registration fee of $80 which includes a shirt.

About Us How we started We started in 2012 with 4 teams and a portable boarded field. The goal: bring 5-a-side to Kansas City and change how people play soccer. For 3 years, we organized leagues and tournaments throughout Kansas City using the portable field. Setting up in various parks and even in the street, we began growing our events and spreading the word. In October of 2016, we opened our permanent home. A 25,000 square feet building housing two 5-a-side turf fields, an indoor patio area, and bar space. 5-a-side as been played in Europe for decades and is currently the most popular way to play the game in the U.K. We’ve been bringing 5-a-side to the KC metro area for about 3 years now in parks and streets throughout the city using a portable boarded field. As our numbers grew, we knew it was time to take things to the next level. Discover Our Mission Original Founder Ian Mohrmann The Soccer Lot organizes five-a-side soccer leagues, tournaments and pickup games. Five-a-side is a faster, more intense version of the game that can be played with fewer people. Five-a-side has become very popular in Europe, and Mohrmann, a longtime soccer fan, wanted to bring it to Kansas City. From the start, Mohrmann had a big vision for The Soccer Lot. He wanted his own facility, so customers could play no matter the weather. But Mohrmann had two big obstacles. One, he didn’t know how to run a business like that. His background is in financial planning. And two, he wasn’t sure there was a market for five-a-side in Kansas City. So, in 2012, The Soccer Lot started hosting leagues and games in local parks—and even in the streets sometimes. Wherever The Soccer Lot played, Mohrmann could set up his portable boarded field. (That’s one of the defining features of five-a-side. It’s played on a smaller field surrounded by dasher boards. The ball physically can’t go out of bounds, so the game play is practically nonstop.) Testing out the business concept in a low-overhead setting was a smart decision. The outdoor events validated Mohrmann’s idea and gave him practice at running the business. “At some point, you have to go out and get your first customers,” he said. “If you don’t, then you’re not going to do it.” Plus, the games were highly visible—great exposure for the business. Mohrmann felt ready to open his own facility, but finding the right location took a while. “We’d been looking for a long time, since 2013, for a specific place,” he said. ping your layout clean. 5-a-Side pick up is great for the athletes that want to get on the field and compete against the best of the best! We have times throughout the week dedicated to pick up soccer. Play soccer, meet people, test your skills, learn something new. All for just $7 per adult sessions and $10 for youth pick up sessions.
